Page: Index (overview)

To combine content of different content types on one page, you can use the content type index. When to choose which content type you read in the article Composite pages and overviews.

The starting point is that the website is bilingual. This means that every piece of content on ru.nl is offered in both Dutch and English, so every content type must also be translated. Read more about this in the input instruction Translations.

  • Go to content > add content
  • Click on 'Index

You always start editing the Dutch language version. Once you have completed and saved the required fields, you will be given the option to create a translation. Is the content to be offered in English only? Before you start entering, change the language version to English under 'Language'.

Field Description
1. Title* Index page title.
2. Introtext Introduction of up to 300 characters. The introduction is displayed in a larger font at the top of the page, and on the map view (with the introduction breaking off after 250 characters).
3. Tile Featured image used in overviews, search results and social media.
4. Microbanners Add up to 3 microbanners. More about microbanners.
5. Content

Here you can make the references to various other content types, but also have the option to add a content that lives only on this page.

  • Add up to 3 Microstories (title, post, link). More about microstories.
  • Add content blocks. Use 'add content' to link to already existing and published pages/content items. More about content blocks.

Metadata

On the content tab, you can also add metadata to your index. Read more about the importance of this information in the article Metadata.

Field Description
Target audience Indicate for whom this index is intended.
Theme Select one or more (research) topics the index is about.
Tab: SEO

The SEO tab appears on every content type. The tab is partially populated from other fields of the content type. Still, it is wise to see if you can improve the SEO information. 

  • Click save.
  • The 'title' and 'summary' fields in the SEO tab are generated from the information entered on the content tab.
