Do not overuse formatting options in the CMS:
Do not underline words
Do not underline words to emphasise them. Underlined words can be mistaken for links.
Be sparing with the use of italics and bold formatting
Italicised words are more difficult to read. If necessary, highlight key words to make it easier to scan the core content, but do not overdo it.
Use few capital letters and exclamation marks

Be reluctant to use tables
Use tables only to display:
- data, such as the numbers of students by faculty;
- comparisons, such as the advantages of different software packages or studies.
It is difficult to scale tables properly on smaller screens such as phones. Therefore, use a maximum of 3 to 4 columns.
Take into account design on other devices
Avoid contextual clues, such as above, below or below. For example, do not write "See the menu on the left", because the location or display of the menu may vary from device to device. Or, for example, write "The next steps" instead of "The steps below".
