See also the explanation of what you can use the content type blog post for in the article overview of content types.
The starting point is that the website is bilingual. This means that every piece of content on ru.nl is offered in both Dutch and English and therefore every content type must also be translated. Read more about this in the input instruction Translations.
- To avoid duplicate (double) content, it is possible to add multiple training editions to one training where fields can be entered specifically for that start date.
- Optionally, the following tabs can be added:
- Programme
- Teachers
- Costs & Registration
- If a tab is created, the information filled in under the content tab (back-end) is displayed under the 'General' tab.
- If tabs are not used, they are not shown either.
Overviews
- Two 'fixed' overviews for training courses with their own filter options have been built: Language courses and overview education for professionals.
- A training course always has only one search result, showing the different training editions/start dates. This works as follows when a visitor filters a 'fixed overview':
- if the visitor filters by cost, 3 start dates/editions may be found. These are shown in 1 search result, as there is also only one url.
- If there are start dates in March, April and May and the visitor filters by start month, this one search result will be visible in both March, April and May.
Please note: are there multiple training editions/starting dates? Then you need to manually delete the respective training edition after the date has passed!
- Go to content > add content
- Click on 'Training
You always start editing the Dutch language version. Once you have completed and saved the required fields, you will be given the option to create a translation. Is the content to be offered in English only? Then change the language version to English under 'Language' before you start entering.

- Programme
- Teachers
- Costs & Enrolment
On the Teachers tab, for example, you can use 'Add content' to retrieve Radboud University staff from Drupal and display them.
By using the 'Two columns' option, it is possible to link, for example, a document with the 'full study programme'.
The title of the different tabs can not be changed. The tab can be activated by checking 'Show tab'. This makes it possible to prepare content for a published training course but not yet show it.
Note: If 'Show tab' is selected then the tab is also active in the English translation. You cannot turn this off for one translation.
On the Metadata tab, you can add metadata to your training. Read more about the importance of this information in the article Metadata.
- In Drupal, fields that apply to all languages are hidden to avoid conflicting changes. If the original language of the contenttype is Dutch, you need to edit the metadata fields on the original language form.
- The combination of the selection target group determines in which agenda overview(s) the training will be shown 'automatically'. There are overviews that are filled automatically based on metadata, in addition, using page type 'list page', a training overview can be generated manually.
Read more about combinations and where CT training will be shown in the articles CT Events and CT News item.
