The starting point is that the website is bilingual. This means that every piece of content on ru.nl is offered in both Dutch and English, so every content type must also be translated. Read more about this in the input instruction Translations.
- Go to content > add content
- Click on 'arrangement
You always start editing the Dutch language version. Once you have completed and saved the required fields, you will be given the option to create a translation. Does it concern content that should only be offered in English? Then before you start entering, change the language version to English under 'Language'.

1. Type of regulation | Do not fill in: type of regulation is not yet applied, so in the case of a regulation keep - None. |
2. Title* | Regulation title. |
3. Subtitle | Subtitle to clarify title. For example, "Adopted by the Executive Board on Feb. 16, 2004. |
4. Validity: start date* | Date from which the regulation applies. Please note that this is not always the same date the regulation was adopted. You can find this in the regulation. |
5. Validity: end date |
Date until which the regulation applies. Most of the regulations are still active and have no expiration date. |
6. Summary* | Short description of up to 250 characters. Displayed in summaries and on map views. Read about a good summary. |
7. Explanatory note | Explanation of its validity and status and how it is handled. |
8. Application | Do not fill in (this field is no longer used). |
Metadata and related content
On the content tab, you can also add metadata to your arrangement. Read more about this information in the article Metadata.

2. Target audience* | Indicate for whom the regulation is intended. |
3. Owner | Link the organizational unit that manages this regulation. |
4. Topic | The (sub)topic related to the regulation. Only select a topic if the regulation needs to appear in the 'Information and services' overview and the regulation is not linked to a service. In that case, also select 'employee' and/or 'student' as the target audience. More about topics. |
5. Attachment | Attach the document (PDF) that contains the full text of the regulation. |
6. Published on* | Date the regulation was published in Drupal. |
Updated on* |
Date the regulation in Drupal was last updated. |
The SEO tab appears on every content type. The tab is partially populated from other fields of the content type. Still, it is wise to see if you can improve the SEO information.
- Click save.
