The content type Training contains more than 150 fields, divided into 11 tabs, describing different aspects of a training program. The fields will start to be displayed in different combinations at the front end of the site. In addition, information will be sent away toward Study Choice123 and HOVI.
Courses are imported from Osiris, the source system. This means we have to deal with the properties and conventions of Osiris. Sometimes we deviate from Osiris in Drupal:
- Some training is depublished in Drupal because it is not recruited for (anymore)
- Some courses do not exist in Osiris, such as dual studies. These have to be manually created by the CMS team.
To create a complete Training in Drupal, you need more than just CT Programme. You will also need to create and link several other content types to CT Training, namely: CT Admissions (undergraduate or graduate), CT Manuals, CT Programme canvas and CT Grants.
The basic principle is that the site is bilingual. In principle, therefore, every piece of content on ru.nl is offered in Dutch and English, except for training courses.
For training courses, only the program site of the language side with which you want to recruit is shown. At the front end of the other language side, only title, short summary and a notice are shown, with a click-through to the filled language version:
- This course has English as the language of instruction. Visit the English page for all information about this program.
-
The language of instruction of this program is Dutch. Visit the Dutch page for all information about this program.
Managing and editing
The base language for courses is Dutch, even if you recruit with the English language version. This has implications for managing training content:
- The fields displayed must be edited on the Dutch side, even if the language of recruitment is English.
- Links to other content types (e.g. year program) are made on the Dutch side, with the exception of content type Manual.
The programme pages are automatically composed after publication based on the fields from CT Programme, fields from the (mandatory) created and linked content types and the canvas pages created in CT Programme under the Pages tab.
The presentation of "fully" completed training consists of the following pages:
